Velocita is developing a next-generation web 2.0 platform that will change the way marketers engage with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn, Digg, Delicious, Youtube, Slideshare, Docstoc, Tumblr and many others.
But that’s about all we can tell you for now since we are currently in stealth mode. That usually either means ‘we need more time ourselves to figure out what the heck we are doing’ or ‘if we told you what we do, then either we’ll have to shoot you or you’ll have to join the team!.’
We happen to be in the latter mode…
What we can tell you is that we are one heck of a smart team with a track record of building successful companies and have decades of experience. In other words, we kinda usually know what we are doing. Just not ready to tell you the whole story yet – no offense!

Senior Web Developer for Front-End (Front End Ninja)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field of study)
- 2-4 years of experience with front end development of rich internet applications
- Expertise in building applications using the following technologies: HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS
- Very good at building web2.0 style workflows using Ajax/DOM modifications
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals and familiarity with common GUI design patterns like MVC/MVP etc and RIA fundamentals
- Expert in one of the Javascript libraries/frameworks like jquery, dojo, ext-js
- Experience with source code version control tools
- Familiar with cross browser support issues and solutions as well as i18n issues and solutions
- Exposure of building social media technologies would be plus
- Experience Adobe Flash/Photoshop
- Familiarity with RDBMS

Requirements
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
- More than 5 years professional experience in Software product development
- At least 3 years of solid web development experience
- Solid understanding of scalable and performant web architectures
- Strong web application development programming skills. Python, AJAX, and knowledge of web-frameworks
- Knowledge of relational databases MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with caching strategies (Memcache etc), SOA, Thrift, REST, Hadoop & "messaging with RabbitMQ"
- Experience with distributed version control tools
- Knowledge of non relational database architectures e.g. Cassandra, HBase, Hypertable, Dynomite desirable
- Agile, test-driven development experience desirable

Requirements
- Strong CS fundamentals with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field of study)
- Expertise in any of C, Java, Python
- 1-2 years of professional (or equivalent) experience
- Good Familiarity with UNIX like operating systems
- Ability to learn new things
- Understandings of Web technology stack (LAMP) and how web works (HTTP, RDBMS etc.)
